I've been
fortunate to spend over twenty years helping organizations
bolster their performance and energize employee participation
and satisfaction.
I love
working with leaders who are clear about what they want to
create, are willing to learn and adapt, and trust their people
to perform. By coaching and consulting with leaders and teams,
I've helped them establish shared visions, craft realistic
strategic plans, and achieve measurable results. While Catherine,
my partner in Zoom For Change, works her magic with process
improvement teams, I focus on building leadership adaptability
and accountability in managing constant change. Some say my
approach is intense, balanced with a light touch.
After
earning my first master's degree in business, I spent ten
years as a process improvement facilitator, a market and product
manager, and a strategy development expert for Qwest Communications.
When obtaining a second master's degree in behavioral science
from the Leadership Institute of Seattle, I transitioned my
consulting practice towards integrating leadership development,
business strategy, and quality improvement initiatives. My
clients include the State of Iowa, the State of Washington,
the State of Louisiana, the City of Seattle, the City of San
Antonio, Tokyo Electric Power Company, Philadelphia Electric
Company, British Nuclear Group, Intel, Hewlett Packard, and
other organizations in the energy industry, telecommunications,
healthcare, and education.
I live
in Oregon and like the personality of Portland - a funky Northwest
city - and I spend holidays with my family in the Midwest.
I'm a ballroom dancer and enjoy social dancing just as much
as competing in a full length, bead-speckled gown.

I've been
lucky to have my dream job for 15 years and to have partnered
with Jean. I'm a trainer, coach, and facilitator building
teams, working with leaders, and sparking innovation in organizations.
I love
to make learning fun and am an expert in adult learning techniques.
I help discouraged overworked employees see the light with
process improvements and simple data collection. I enjoy learning
about their jobs and helping them implement changes that make
their work-life easier. The best part of Zoom For Change
for them and me is implementing the out-of-the-box changes
no one believed possible. As a result of my training and coaching,
clients decreased turn-around-times, shortened lead times,
exceeded regulatory requirements, and removed barriers to
good customer service that have existed for years.
My clients
include the State of Iowa, University of Washington Medical
Center, Orbit Irrigation, Hewlett Packard, Pierce Transit
and Wizards of the Coast.
I live
in the small town of Gig Harbor, Washington. My hobby, and
some day my third career, is writing (not yet published) mystery
novels. My best friend and I backpack Alaska and British Columbia
in search of our favorite animal-grizzly bears.
